Founded by Mike Garlington, Colonel (Ret.), U.S. Army, GAR Consulting brings nearly three decades of leadership across tactical, operational, and strategic levels of the Army, combined with post-service experience advising senior government and industry leaders on modernization, readiness, and transformation initiatives. Mike’s career includes command at multiple echelons, most notably as Commander of Crane Army Ammunition Activity, where he led large-scale industrial operations, modernization of the organic industrial base, and global readiness support for the Joint Force.

Following military retirement, Mike served with IBM Federal Consulting, advising Army Futures Command, Army Materiel Command, FORSCOM, and PEO STRI on digital transformation, data modernization, AI/ML integration, and next-generation command and control efforts. His work spanned some of the Army’s most critical modernization priorities and reinforced his role as a trusted advisor bridging government mission needs with industry capabilities.

As a service-connected disabled veteran, Mike remains deeply engaged in the Central Texas military and veteran community and actively mentors transitioning service members and emerging leaders.
